New Discovery for Algeria

A new discovery of oil and gas was made with drilling in Algeria. The discovery was made on the Hassi Bir Rekaiz concession area by PTTEP, CNOOC and Algleria’s state-run Sonatrach.

According to a statement released by PTTEP, the well flowed at rates of around 2,406 bpd of crude and associated gas flow was 2.9 Mmcf/d. The firm said the results confirmed the commercial potential of petroleum in the area.

The partners plan to submit the field’s development plan to the Algerian authorities in early-2017.
