Midway Resources International subsidiary, Zarara Oil and Gas, is set to launch exploration in Kenya’s Lamu county. The planned drilling program is expected to begin in March 2017.
The drilling program follows a series of seismic surveys conducted in 2012-13 in Pate Island, Lamu East that identified the existence of large quantities of oil and gas deposits. The company said it will drill over 100 wells to exploit those deposits
An environmental impact assessment has been conducted and the report submitted to the National Environment and Management Authority.
