Algerian state firm Sonatrach, on Wednesday organized a ceremony dedicated to the official installation of the Company Ethics Committee, in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors and the Executive and Central Directors, as well as the signing of a Framework Convention on standardization and certification between Sonatrach and the Algerian Institute for Standardization, IANOR.
The Company Ethics Committee reports directly to the CEO according to the organizational plan of Sonatrach. It is composed of a president accompanied by 04 members and a Secretariat.
This Committee is responsible for implementing the Sonatrach code of ethics accompanied by the rules and procedures applicable in this context.
He is also involved in practices related to Sonatrach’s commitments towards stakeholders, in particular its employees and business partners, as well as the environment. Regarding the signing of a Framework Convention on standardization and certification, the latter concerns the support by IANOR of SONATRACH structures in the field of standardization, certification and includes various related activities, such as training, sensitization, capacity building, support-advice and assistance in this area.
This support covers the implementation within Sonatrach of international standards dealing with corporate social responsibility and ethics.
