New Nigerian Cummins/Leventis Partnership for Energy

It was reported on February 6, that Cummins Engine Company, Inc. finalized the signing of a joint-venture agreement with Nigerian company A.G. Leventis to establish a new partnership, Cummins West Africa. Located in Lagos and meeting a pressing energy demand, the new joint venture is to engage in the manufacturing of power generation systems with up to 1,000 kVA output, aided by a network of service branches spread across Nigeria.
In creating this new company, Cummins is in line with its diversified pioneer-like global business strategy. Robert Neitzke, Cummins Director – Business Development and Board Member of Cummins West Africa stressed the fact that, “By combining the local knowledge and resources of A.G. Leventis with Cummins technology, we are building an ideal power partnership for Nigeria."
By utilizing manufacturing processes and training programs similar to those of the US and UK, Cummins West Africa will ultimately be the leader in Africa in the production of generator sets to the same quality levels.
