Perenco subsidiary, Perenco Rep, said its partnership with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a “win-win”, and essential to achieve set growth targets. The company said, “In particular, the implementation of a serene business climate and a solid and modern legal framework in respect to the commitments of the state, which guarantees stability.”
Perenco has been in the DRC for 15 years through its subsididaries Perenco Rep and Mioc, and is currently looking for new offshore ventures. Perenco Rep General Manager Reza Mered said that the firm anticipates continued support from the DRC Ministry of Hydrocarbons as well as the government to obtain necessary authorizations to conduct seismic acquisition for offshore drilling from Angola.
Mered added that the DRC’s hydrocarbon sector had more to give in the future saying, “The best is yet to come.”
