Production Boost for Libya

Monday, December 26, 2016

Libya is set to get a bump in production over the next few months to the tune of around 270,000 bpd. The increase in production will come from the reopening of the Sharara and El Feel oil fields.

In a statement the country’s state-run oil firm, NOC, said in January it expected to add 175,000 bpd to its totals, and within three months that number could rise to 275,000 bpd.

The two oil fields have reopened following the end of a two-year blockade of the respective pipelines leading from the fields.

“This is the first time for three years that all our oil will flow freely and I hope that this will be the end of the use of closure tactics in our country,” NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla said the statement.
