Saipem Sees $650 Million in Onshore Contracts

Saipem has been awarded new onshore contracts worth approximately $650 million in Nigeria and Canada. In Nigeria, Saipem has been awarded the EPC contract for the construction of the second train of the independent power plant in Afam.

Saipem will be responsible for the full EPC of the open cycle power plant, with the exclusion of the supply of the gas turbine that will be supplied free-issued from the client.

The project will last 18 months and will be fully developed within Nigeria, confirming Saipem’s commitment to local content and its strong presence in the country. The company is already working on Phase1 of the project and it is close to completion.

In Canada, Saipem has been awarded a new EPC lump sum contract by Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. The project consists of the engineering, procurement and construction of a secondary upgrader with a production capacity of 42,599 barrels per stream day of hydrotreated gasoil, as part of the Horizon Oil Sands Project – Hydrotreater Phase 2 – in Alberta.
