Enhanced capabilities to deliver comprehensive workflow solutions for historical and real-time production optimization and proactive reservoir management
PRESS RELEASE–LONDON–May 13, 2004– Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) today announced it has acquired the assets of Decision Team, an oil and gas software and consulting services firm based in Baden, Austria.
Decision Team capabilities and its DECIDE!(a) intelligent reservoir surveillance software are the latest additions to the SIS portfolio of production optimization solutions. DECIDE! intelligently captures, analyzes, conditions and transforms both historical and real-time production data into actionable operational decisions.
"The combination of SIS and Decision Team will provide a comprehensive set of petroleum engineering workflows, thus enabling real-time production optimization and proactive reservoir management for our customers," said Peter Goode, president, SIS. "Given the increasing production demands facing our industry, DECIDE! provides a catalyst for enhancing production and augments our existing real-time capabilities."
Today’s extensive volumes of operational data present a challenge for reservoir and production engineers to effectively analyze the data to make operational decisions. By using DECIDE! production engineers and geoscientists can enhance production workflows by transforming raw data into pertinent information quickly and efficiently.
"With DECIDE! production engineers can leverage this immense volume of data while focusing on well and field-level production problems," said Michael Stundner, managing director, Decision Team. "We look forward to integrating DECIDE! with the SIS production suite of software to enhance production optimization workflows such as simulation history matching."
The DECIDE! artificial intelligence decision analytics system is directly applicable to reservoir and production engineers, enabling them to generate useable information from large volumes of data. Its analytical data mining capabilities support efficient diagnostics and predictive modeling that provides insight to reservoir management, illuminates production opportunities and prioritizes operational decisions. Examples of this would be optimizing field injection-production ratio, artificial lift performance and smart well control.
The software’s notification systems provide ranking lists of those wells that are under performing, and automated event detection replaces routine field surveillance, resulting in significant time saving. Downtimes are greatly reduced by 24/7 surveillance of key performance indicators.
