While drilling on Egypt’s Alam El-Shawish concession in the Western Desert, Shell hit gas. According to initial estimates the discovery contains about 500 Bcf of gas, with a possible upside.
The discovery could produce from 10% to 15% of the total production of Shell’s JV in Egypt, Badr el-Din Petroleum.
