Skikda LNG Complex Experiences Technical Shutdown

A technical incident occurred on June 11 at the Skikda LNG Complex and led to the shutdown of this complex. The technical incident was caused by a sudden failure of a gas turbine control mechanism. No other damage was reported thanks to the operation of the automatic safety devices at the plant, according to state oil and gas firm Sonatrach.

For the safety of people and equipment and in coordination with the equipment manufacturer, Sonatrach has decided to carry out a thorough inspection in order to carry out the necessary repairs.

“Our specialists and technicians, in collaboration with the maintenance company and the equipment manufacturer, are mobilized for a return to normalcy,” a company release stated.
