Sonatrach issued a tender for petrochemical projects in Algeria. The state-run firm issued invitations for engineering firms to bid on four major petrochemical projects.
The four major petrochemical plants are worth an estimated $6 billion in total.
A Reuters report said that the companies selected would carry out the work on the four refineries located in Tiaret, Hassi Messaoud, and two in Skikda, including a fuel oil cracking plant, and another Nafta processing plant.
The plants in Tiaret and Hassi Messaoud will have a 5-million-ton capacity each, a source told Reuters.
