Algerian state oil and gas concern Sonatrach signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with two companies, the Russian company Zarubezhneft and the Turkish company Turklye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakliôi (TPAO). These two agreements will make it possible to initiate joint discussions on the opportunities concerning the exploration, development and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Algeria, in particular following the promulgation of the new Algerian Hydrocarbons Law.
The signing of these two memorandums of understanding confirms the renewed dynamism of the Algerian exploration potential within the framework of the new attractive provisions introduced by the Law on hydrocarbon activities. These agreements will allow, in particular, the revival of the exploration activity in partnership and a fair sharing of risks in this capital activity.
