Students in Kenya have joined together to march on the capital demanding more security following the massacre last week at the Garissa University College campus. The Garrissa campus was the site of an Al Shabaab attack that left close to 150 dead.
On April 7 students walked through the Kenyan capital of Nairobi singing and shouting, while others marched to the office of the president to present a petition.
Meanwhile Kenyan forces have bombed Al Shabaab camps in Somalia’s Gedo region in response to the latest attack on Kenya. According to the military two of the militants’ camps in Somalia were destroyed by the Kenyan air force.
While Kenya claims it destroyed the camps Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, AlShabaab’s military operations spokesman, told Reuters that none of its camps were damaged in the raid, and that the fighter jets only hit farmland.
