Friday, July 17, 2009

According to Sudan’s state-owned oil and gas firm Sudapet, the country’s production could see a major increase in the next three to four years. Sudapet said the increased production will come from improved oil-extraction techniques.

According to Sudapet head Salah Hassan Wahbi while speaking at an industry event, production could rise to 922,000 bpd. “If we successfully (use enhanced oil recovery), then we can increase production" to 922,000 bpd, up 400,000 bpd from its current output of 522,000 bpd.

Wahbi said that the company was working on using such techniques as water injection in wells.
