Suretank, the world’s leading provider of engineered solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, has developed a new range of low profile tanks for the transport of oilfield chemicals and fuels.
The new multi-cargo Suretank Fluid: Low Profile Tank range comes in response to recent industry trends for increased safety awareness when working at heights and following close discussions with key customers.
The new design optimises tank capacity within the offshore frame, whilst keeping the height below the international threshold for working at heights of 1.8 metres.
The design includes several new features including a unique top and bottom design which provides full drainage, a fully removable vessel for maintenance and a new stacking arrangement which is compliant with the latest industry requirements (including DNV 2.7-1, 2013).
Donal Duggan, Group R&D Manager at Suretank, explained: “We’ve spent time researching similar products in the marketplace and have worked closely with our customers to understand the design features that are important to them in this type of product.”

The new design is easy to clean and allows clear access and visibility to all valves and fittings. The foot-print is ideal for shipping in a standard 40’ container, with 4-way fork pockets available depending on customer preference.
Other options available include CE approval to PED 97/23/EC, Suretank level gauge, T4/T7/T11/T14 rating and Chemical/Helifuel/Acid designs.
Suretank is the world’s largest manufacturer of tanks and cargo-carrying units for the offshore oil and gas industry and all of its products are produced to DNV 2.7-1 certification as standard.
Suretank products are found worldwide, including the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Caspian, Sakhalin, India, Australia, Middle East and the Far East. Its product range includes chemical and acid tanks, helifuel tanks, offshore containers, baskets, mudskips and cryogenic tanks.
