Algeria and Turkey have signed a new natural gas deal according to reports out of Turkey. The deal is between Algeria’s state-run oil and gas firm Sonatrach and Turkey’s state-owned oil and gas pipeline company BOTAS. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan praised the agreement between the two companies who extended their gas accord for another 10 years.

“Right now, Algeria is the fourth biggest source for Turkish natural gas imports,” said Erdoğan.

The new agreement between Turkey and Algeria will provide 4.4 Bcm of LNG per year for Turkey until October 2024, BOTAŞ announced in a statement on its website.
