Egyptian Firm Signs Deal for Israeli Gas

Dolpinus Holdings out of Egypt has signed a seven-year deal to buy an estimated $1.2 billion of natural gas from Israel’s Tamar field. Tamar partners include Noble Energy, Isramco Negev 2 LP, Avner Oil Exploration LP, Delek Drilling LP, and Dor Gas Exploration LP.

The agreement calls for a minimum of 5 Bcm of gas to be sold in the first three years, the Tamar partners said. The gas will be delivered to Ashkelon, which is connected to Egypt through an underwater pipeline run by the East Mediterranean Gas Co.
