Lukoil Makes Ghana Discovery

A discovery was made off the coast of Ghana by Russian oil major Lukoil. According to Ghana’s Minister of Energy Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the discovery was made while drilling on the Cape Three Points Deep Water block.

Buah said the Russian firm now has a 90-day test period to determine whether the find is commercially viable and results will be released once the tests are complete.

“Lukoil has come to report a discovery, and under the petroleum agreement they have 90 days to do an appraisal to determine whether it is commercial,” Buah said.
