NOC Forms Group to Deal with Protesters

NOC, Libya’s state-run oil and gas firm, formed a special committee to accelerate talks with protesters and reopen the El Sharara and El Feel oilfields. The group was formed to work directly with protesters to bring the months of protests and blockages to an end.

In a Reuters report the state-run firmed declined to put a timeline on the reopening of the fields, which together used to produce around 400,000 bpd.

A solution would effectively double the country’s production, which this month fell below 400,000 bpd after the closure of the Zueitina oil port.
