Shell Gabon Plans New Development

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

Shell Gabon has decided to move forward on its development of the Robin-01 field in Gabon. The company discovered the field in 2010 and carried out a study on its economic viability in 2012.  With a potential of about eight wells for a production rate that reaches 100,000 bpd, Robin’s site, which also includes the Toucan field, is a real opportunity for the company’s managers to develop the business. “The current production of the well allows us to obtain useful data to better plan the future development of the Robin field,” explained Odette Delbrah, responsible for the development of new opportunities within the company. “We were faced with very short deadlines and had to work hard to define the plans for the drilling of a production well and to organize the implementation of a competitive solution to export the Robin crude to the Toucan facilities,” said Michel Prud’homme-Nzouba, head of oil engineering at Shell Gabon. For the time being, the development plan for the field is still in the works.
