Turret Bearing Work Continues on Jubilee

Thursday, February 2, 2017

Partners on Ghana’s Jubilee field are still working on the issue of the FPSO’s turret bearing. According to Anadarko Petroleum’s Q4 Operations Report, the execution of the Turret Bearing Remediation Project continued with interim spread mooring of the FPSO forecasted to be completed this month.

Final decisions and approvals will be sought for the long-term turret system solution H1 2017.

The Jubilee fields production averaged 78,000 bpd of crude during Q4. The operator (Tullow Oil) expects the average gross production from Jubilee field to be approximately 68,500 bpd in 2017, which includes a facility shutdown of up to 12 weeks.

The partners, which also include Kosmos Energy and GNPC, are actively seeking optimization solutions to minimize the duration of any shutdown period.
