Uganda, following the publication of Notice of Request for Qualification (RfQ) for its licensing round, reported that it received a number of application for qualifications (AfQ) from firms around the world.
The process of receiving the RfQ ended on June 30 with the Ministry registering 17 valid applicants out of the 19 applications that had been registered and received for the RfQs.
Dr F. A. Kabagambe-Kaliisa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development noted the registration of 17 valid applications presents a significant milestone given the several challenges the entire oil and gas industry is going through. He further explained that government would undertake the evaluation of the Application for Qualification between July 1 and July 30. The qualified applicants will be revealed on August 10.
