Poly-GCL Petroleum Group Holdings out of China plans on moving ahead with its $4 billion project to export gas from southeast Ethiopia’s Hilala and Calub gas fields.
Project developers laid the foundation stone in early March and construction is expected to start in August and be complete by 2019.
Work on the export pipeline from the fields in Ethiopia to the coast of neighboring Djibouti will start this year. This includes building a 3 mtpa LNG export plant and wharf.
