Under the initiative of the Africa Petroleum Producers Association (APPA) and with the support of the Ministry of Petroleum of the Republic of Angola, AME Trade organised the successful launch edition of the African Oil & Gas Local Content Conference and Exhibition in Luanda last week from the 15 – 17 November 2016.
H.E. Eng José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos, Minister of Petroleum, Republic of Angola, officially opened the conference stating that this event would stimulate industry development by increasing local capacity across the continent.
He noted that Angola will continue to increase the participation of national companies in the oil sector, as well increase Angolanization in the oil sector, through the integration, training and development of Angolan personnel.
The event was host to 27 expert speakers and 250 registered participants from APPA Member Countries, international oil companies, service companies in hydrocarbons sector and the related activities located in Angola with the focus stimulating industrial development through increased local capacity by finding solutions to the challenges of meeting localization requirements under the theme of “Achieving an average rate of 30% of Local Content in different oil and gas activities in African Petroleum producing countries by 2030.”
