European Hydrocarbons Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of African Petroleum Corp. Ltd., received approval from the board of directors of Liberia’s state-run NOCAL for a two-year extension to the second exploration period for both LB-08 and LB-09. The extension takes the company into June 2016.

The company reported also that the LB-08 second exploration period’s two-well commitment has been moved to the third exploration period. The company will work with NOCAL to implement a work program which includes additional 3D seismic acquisition.

In Sierra Leone on Block SL-03, the Petroleum Directorate approved a two-year extension of the initial exploration period under the SL-03 Petroleum Agreement. The extension was ratified by the country’s parliament in November. The initial exploration period will now terminate in April 2015.
