Algeria Adds to Crude Capacity

Algeria received a small boost in its production levels with the addition of two new fields to its capacity flow. The North African nation saw the Bir Sebaa and Bir Msana fields come onstream providing an additional 32,000 bpd of crude.

The Bir Sebaa came online at a rate of 20,000 bpd and the Bir Msana at a rate of 12,000 bpd. Both fields are in the Hassi Messaoud area.

Algeria’s state-run oil firm Sonatrach holds a 25% stake in the Bir Sebaa, partnered with PTTEP and Petrovietnam. On the Bir Msana Sonatrach also has a 25% stake and is partnered with Petronas and Cepsa.
