Algeria and Tanzania Set to Establish JV

Tanzania and Algeria are set to establish a JV company as part of an energy cooperation agreement signed between the two. The previously signed agreement revolved around joint exploration in Tanzania.

According to Algeria’s official news agency APS, the JV between Tanzania’s electricity supply company Tanesco and Algeria’s electricity and gas company Sonelgaz is expected to be operational “within a few months.”

Algerian Minister of Energy Youcef Yousfi was cited as saying the two initial joint projects between the countries relating to gas distribution and oil well drilling and production “are now at an advanced stage.
