Algeria and Turkey Ink LNG Extension Deal

The CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi and the CEO of the Turkish Company BOTAŞ, Abdulvahit Fidan, have signed an agreement for the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG), intended for the Turkish market.

Through this agreement, the parties are basically extending their existing cooperation for a period of three years, as Sonatrach has been supplying LNG, through a long-term contract, to BOTAŞ since 1988.

The signing ceremony of this agreement took place during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official visit to Algeria on November 21, 2023.
