The Presidents of Algeria and Uganda, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Yoweri Museveni, respectively, oversaw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sonatrach and the Ugandan National Oil Company on Sunday. The MoU aims to jointly assess cooperation opportunities across the entire oil and gas value chain.
This protocol covers several areas of cooperation related to exploration & production, marketing, processing and downstream activities. It also includes aspects related to oil and gas services as well as provisions relating to the development of training and the exchange of expertise.
Through this agreement, Sonatrach seeks to develop partnership opportunities with UNOC so as to allow better use of the capacities available from both parties. Thus, this memorandum is part of Sonatrach’s strategic orientation targeting African markets and aiming to strengthen its presence at continental and regional level.
