Algeria: Gas leak on a gas injector well

Algerian state firm Sonatrach has reported that before the start of routine work on the MD 244 gas injector well, located 15 km south of the town of Hassi Messaoud, the Sonatrach operational teams had noticed a gas leak which then caught fire.

Immediately, all the technical and security provisions relating to this type of event were initiated to control the situation.

No human damage was recorded. The NOC’s intervention teams will continue to monitor the situation
