Companies interested in submitting bids in Algeria’s latest bid round have proposed that the government postpone the closing of the round by one month; Algeria on its part has welcomed this proposal according to the country’s ALNAFT. The round was originally set to close in early-August however due to the requests for more time Algeria has pushed back the closing date until September.
“Some foreign firms asked us for more time to assess the potential of all perimeters. We have accepted their request,” said Sid Ali Betata, president of Algeria’s national hydrocarbons agency ALNAFT.
“Bids will opened in September. This decision means contracts are due in October,” he added, speaking at a panel debate at an industry event.
