Algeria to Add to Gas Flows in 2017

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Three delayed projects in Algeria are back on track and will add considerably to the country’s natural gas output in 2017. Algeria expects to see its Touat, Timimoun, and Reggane gas projects are expected to come onstream throughout 2017.

Flows of about 12.8 Mmcm/d are expected from the Touat and 4.6 Mmcm/d from the Timimoun are expected in Q1 2017. The Reggane, expected to add another 8 Mmcm/d to Algeria’s totals, is expected to come onstream mid-2017.

“The three projects will come online on time; the outcome will reinforce our position as a reliable gas exporter to Europe. No delays; the projects will be delivered in 2017,” a Sonatrach source told Reuters. “Further in the south, we have found a huge potential of gas around the fields of Akabli and Tidikelt, in addition to Alrar’s project in the east that will deliver gas and oil.”
