Algerian Pipeline Exports to EU Up

Monday, April 11, 2016

Algeria saw an uptick in gas exports via pipeline since the start of Q2, according to a Platts report.

Supplies to Italy hit a new three-year high at 65.5 Mmcm, up more than four-fold compared with the average flows in March, data from Platts analytics unit Eclipse Energy showed. Natural gas exports to Spain are also up 50% compared to the March average.

The Platts report attributes the Italian uptick to the drop in gas flows into the European country from Russia, as well as the fact that flows via the Greenstream pipeline from Libya to Italy have dropped.
