Amended NLNG Act Going to Senate

Sunday, May 14, 2017

Nigeria saw a draft  bill passed by its National Assembly which will require Nigeria LNG (NLNG) to make its statutory contribution to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) fund.

The bill seeks to enforce the payment of 3% of the NLNG’s earning into the fund of the NDDC.  Having passed through the National Assembly, the bill will now move on to the Senate for confirmation.

Dr. Kudo Eresia-Eke General Manager, External Relations Division of NLNG has said he believe the bill is a mistake and will erode confidence of investors.
