Anadarko Signs Offtake Agreement with Bharat Petroleum

Monday, February 18, 2019

Anadarko Petroleum has signed another offtake agreement to sell 1 million metric tons per year of LNG from its planned Mozambique terminal. The agreement was signed with India’s Bharat Petroleum.

The supply agreement is for 15 years.

The deal gives Anadarko more than 8.5 million metric tons per year of offtake commitments, having previously entering into a Sales Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Tokyo Gas and Centrica LNG Company, for the long-term supply of LNG. The co-purchasing off-take agreement calls for the delivered ex-ship supply of 2.6 million tons per year from the start-up of production at the facility until the early 2040s.

It also signed a SPA with Shell International Trading Middle East. This SPA has Shell taking 2 million tons of LNG from the Mozambican development per year for a term of 13 years.
