The shut down at Angola’s much beleaguered LNG plant is not expected to end any time in the near future according to reports from the projects main investor Chevron. A spokesman for the company said the LNG facility is not expected to resume production until mid-2015.
The plant was shut in following a rupture on a flare line in April.
“Following investigation into the incident that took place at the plant in Soyo on April 10, 2014 Angola LNG will pull forward a planned shutdown to allow its contractor Bechtel to both correct items from the incident and – in parallel – address plant capacity issues,” the spokesman said in a Reuters report.
