Proven oil reserves released by Angola top OPEC’s figures by almost four billion barrels. Angola’s vice minister for petroleum, Anibal Octavio Teixeira da Silva, speaking at the World Energy Congress (WEC) in South Korea, said Angola has 13 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, as opposed to OPEC’s late-2012 figure of 9.1 billion barrels of oil reserves.
Da Silva also told attendees at WEC that on the production end, the country would continue producing 1.7 million bpd through the end of 2013 and it expects to reach 2.0 million bpd by 2015.
