Another Attack in Kenya

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Police in Kenya repelled another attack by suspected al Shabaab terrorists. According to reports, the militants attacked a construction company in the eastern part of the country. This latest attack comes just days after the Islamist group claimed responsibility for an attack in the East African nation’s capital that left over 20 dead.
Police say the assailants wounded one person while they attempted to hit the site in Garissa county, not far from the Kenyan-Somali border, owned by a Chinese road construction company that is building the Garissa-Modogashe highway.
“The attackers were repulsed since the security officers were very alert. There was an exchange of fire before the attackers escaped,” county police commander David Kerina told Reuters by phone, adding that the injured person was a watchman’s wife.
