Egypt’s tourism industry will be taking another hit as gunmen shot two dead near a tourist site that draws tens of thousands to the country every year. On a road near the Giza pyramids, gunmen on a motorcycle shot dead two members of the country’s tourism and antiquities police force.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but in the past Islamist militants have targeted police and soldiers at checkpoints and barracks or police stations.
The incident happened about 30 metersfrom a security checkpoint leading to the pyramids.
