Barakah Wins Decommissioning Work Offshore Mauritania

Malaysia’s Barakah Offshore Petroleum’s wholly-owned subsidiary, PBJV Group, has been chosen to perform abandonment and decommissioning work offshore Mauritania. The company received a letter of award from Samling Resources for the abandonment and decommissioning of the Chinguetti and Banda fields.

 

The contract will cover the provision of well intervention vessel (WIV), platform supply vessel, and all necessary parts, spares, repairs, refurbishments and modifications to the WIV and all coordination, technical support and supervisory works.

 

The value of the contract for PBJV is based on its work scope and is estimated at $14.2 million.

According to the company, the contract is expected to start this month. The project involves the temporary plugging of 15 wells.
