BHN-1 Drilling Ahead in Tunisia

Africa Hydrocarbons updated its drilling operations in Tunisia where it is drilling the BHN-1 exploration well on the Bouhajla Permit. The company said that it has now set 13-3/8″ surface casing to a depth of 807 meters and operations are proceeding as planned, with the drilling of 12-1/4″ hole now underway.

 

The BHN-1 well was spud on June 8, 2013 and is the first exploration well on the Bouhajla Permit. It is planned to be drilled to a total depth of 2,545 meters in order to evaluate a Cretaceous Abiod oil target on the Bouhajla North Prospect. The well is expected to take four to six weeks from spud to reach total depth.
