Angola has pushed back the deadline for the submission of bids in its latest licensing round. According to a report from Sonangol, the deadline for bids on the 10 onshore blocks in the Lower Congo and Kwanza basins is now October 1, as opposed to the original date of September 18.
The state-run oil firm said that due to an error, the Terms of Reference that were published in the press release regarding the opening of the bid rounds were incorrect. The company said that the minimum work program for the initial exploration phase should include, among other requirements, 750 sq km of 3D seismic long offset. Sonangol has corrected this and informed the companies.
