Bonga Field to See More Wells

Monday, November 10, 2014

SNEPCo, one of Shell’s units in Nigeria, has eight wells in the works for its Bonga field. The wells are expected to help maximize production.

This third phase of the Bonga Main development is expected to add around 40,000 boepd through the existing Bonga FPSO, a report in the Sun News said. This phase is an expansion and involves the drilling of four producing wells and four water injection wells. Drilling is expected to start in 2015.

“This program – on top of the ongoing Phase 2 drilling and after the start-up of Bonga North-West barely two months ago – further underlines our commitment to Nigeria and leadership in deep-water production,” said Markus Droll, Shell’s VP Nigeria & Gabon.
