Drilling operations on the Moambe exploration well onshore Cameroon on Bowleven’s Bomono Permit have commenced.
The Moambe is the second well of Bowleven’s two-well program on the permit and follows the Zingana well, which was drilled in June. The Moambe is an undrilled Paleocene (Tertiary) three-way dip fault block targeting multiple sands. The well will be drilled to around 1,620 meters.
Further petrophysical evaluation on the Zingana discovery well is continuing and as planned the well has been suspended to enable future re-entry and testing. In July the company reported that the Zingana had encountered hydrocarbons in the prognosed Paleocene (Tertiary) aged reservoir intervals.
