BP and ENI have entered into an agreement that has the UK-based firm purchasing LNG from one of ENI’s planned developments offshore Mozambique. The pair signed a 20-year deal for LNG from ENI’s Coral South FLNG project on Offshore Area 4.
With the sale of the entire output from the Coral South FLNG project ENI can take its FID on the project.
ENI operates Area 4 with a 50% stake and is partnered with CNPC, Galp Energia, Kogas, and ENH. There is talk that ExxonMobil will be joining ENI and partners on the block, if a much rumored deal for a 25% stake from ENI goes through.
