Cairn Energy said it plans to drill at least four wells off the coast of Africa in the coming year. Two of these wells will be drilled offshore Morocco and the other two off the coast of Senegal, a country that Cairn just recently entered.
“Any one of these wells is potentially game-changing for the company,” chief executive Simon Thomson said.
Cairn will start drilling the first well in Morocco in September. The program in total will target over 4 billion boe of mean un-risked gross prospective resource, the company said.
