In advance of its preliminary results for 2013, Cairn Energy issued an update on recent operations, including its plans to drill nine wells in the coming year; four of which will be drilled in its operated Atlantic Margin program. Of the four wells, three will be drilled in Africa and the fourth in Ireland.
The first of the three African wells is currently underway, the JM-I exploration well on the Juby Maritime III Block offshore Morocco. This well will be followed by two wells offshore Senegal.
In its Atlantic Margin non-operated program, Cairn will participate in the drilling of a well on the Cap Boujdour Contract Area where Kosmos Energy is the operator. Planning for this well is currently underway.
The company will also participate in wells in the North Sea.
