Canesis Data Offering Non-Proprietary Data on Libya

Canesis Data has in its possession a selection of non-proprietary data from public domain and industry sources for general sale. Canesis is a service company in the oil and gas exploration sector with the specialty of reconditioning hard copy data archives to enable their use in modern interpretation workstations. The company has a number of data scans from Africa.

The company undertakes the processing of released and public-domain data on its own behalf and participates in multi-client situations such as open licensing rounds. Its personnel have a track record in this area and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to bear on the innumerable challenges presented by the data with which they work, which is often disfigured, damaged or fragile.

The service division of Canesis, Petroscan Ltd., is focusing on the development of its non-proprietary data sales which includes datasets from Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, Gabon, Libya, Mauritania, and Morocco. It also has a collection of digitized well log data comprising 630 wells from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya.

In association with Target Geodata Ltd., the company previously participated in Libya’s past EPSA IV license rounds as a supplier of seismic data and digitized well log data. The company has in excess of 2,700 seismic sections and over 320 wells covering the country’s oil and gas basins including the Sirte and Ghadames basins.
