CNOOC Chief Moved to Sinochem

In a surprise move, the Chinese government has shuffled the Chairman and Chief Executive of state-owned oil giant China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Yang Hua, to a new position.

Yang’s new post will see him become general manager of China’s chemical manufacturer and trader Sinochem. While Sinochem confirmed the move, there has been no news as to who the replacement at CNOOC will be.

Yang’s tenure at CNOOC dates back to 1982, becoming the chief executive of the company in 2015.
