CNR Workers Launch Strike

Thursday, February 9, 2017

The facilities of Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) in Cote d’Ivoire are under a strike action from the country’s oil workers. The CNR workers launched a 72-hour strike on February 8 over employment conditions.

“There’s no gas coming from any of CNR’s platforms now, and that represents around 30% of Ivorian production,” Imrana Konate, secretary-general of the SISPOO union, told Reuters. “We’ve said it would be 72 hours, but it depends on progress in discussions with the Ministry and company.”

CNR holds two developments in the West African country, the Baobab and the Espoir fields on deepwater Block CI-40.
